May 21
It’s that time of the year again for literature lovers everywhere. The Sydney Writers’ Festival begins May 16 and runs to May 22. I will be appearing on a panel at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre talking about the ins and outs of self-publishing. I’m really looking forward to it and will be signing copies of GOM’s Gold on the day and through a stall in the centre as well. With any luck, my next book on hip operations will also be ready. I love the Sydney Writers’ Festival.
April 16 and April 17
Ironfest is back at Lithgow and this year the theme is The Holy Grail, which is a perfect fit for GOM’s Gold’s Arthurian roots. Naturally I will be signing books for all the fans. Last year the weather was perfect so let’s hope it’s another great weekend.
March 13, 2016
After six months of recovering from a hip operation … and Christmas … and New Year … and summer, I’m back on board and kicking the year off with an appearance at the Highland Gathering at Scots School in Bathurst. Highlanders and Druids seem a likely mix so I’ll be signing copies of GOM’s Gold for all those who sport the tartan – and a few others. 🙂
September 26-27, 2015
Sydney Comicon, Saturday and Sunday. GOM’s Gold is sharing a stall with Odyssey Publishing, a small publishing house with a merry band of writers headed by a great gal, Michelle Lovi. I know I can count on some great costumes and some real fantasy fans.
August 15
It’s another pop-up – this time at Woolworths Leura between 11am and 1pm. I’ll be signing books and trading cards so look forward to seeing some of you there.
July 31
Springwood High School has invited me to talk to Year 7 English students on the topic “Escaping into the imagination”. It is the latest in a series of high school presentations, which are proving a lot of fun. I will, of course, be signing books. So if anyone has a copy that they want signed, just bring it along.
June 23
I will be addressing art students at Winmalee High School on Tuesday for a curriculum component called “Can you judge a book by its cover” (I say yes). As some of you know, a fantastic illustrator, Jeremy Reston, did my cover, which will form the basis of the presentation. Should be fun.
June 19-21
It’s the Supanova pop-culture festival and there’s all sorts of hip, fun things happening, including a signing of GOM’s Gold. You can find me on stall A086 down in Indie Ally. Excellent costumes to be seen everywhere – My Little Pony (all blokes) Scooby Doo (Thelma, Daphne and Scooby), the Swiss Chef muppet, Darth Vader and whole range of gaming characters that I’m not that familiar with, but which look awesome. Art seems to be the big thing here, as well as photo-ops with fantasy favourites like Nathan Fillion. See you there!
May 27
Hazelbrook Public School is hosting an author appearance at 11.30am, which will involve a reading and signing of GOM’s Gold. Can’t wait to meet everyone. There is nothing more fun than making learning exciting for children – it’s one of my great passions.
May 6
Blue Mountains Grammar School is hosting an author appearance in the morning, which will involve a reading of GOM’s Gold to about 80 junior school children and some coaching on creative writing and persuasive writing heading into the NAPLAN. Should be lots of fun as I’ve always enjoyed teaching this age group.
April 18 and April 19
I will be conducting a book signing for GOM’s Gold (and a general book stall) at Ironfest 2015 at Lithgow. Here’s hoping the weather holds. Ironfest is a well-attended annual festival that celebrates working and playing with metal. It typically features musical events, blacksmithing, designers and machinists and is attended by hobbyists of all manner and type from all over the world. This year there will be re-enactments of Napoleonic wars and the usual medievalists are likely play roulette online in canada to make a show. I’m hoping GOM’s Gold, with its Arthurian twist, will be a hit.
April 10 and April 11
It’s Big W Katoomba’s one-year anniversary and they have kindly invited me to conduct a signing of GOM’s Gold to celebrate the day. There’s likely to be lots of special deals and a few fun events. Not sure of the time yet but it will probably be between 10am and 1pm. Thank you Big W for the invitation.
April 4
It’s back to Big W Katoomba for an Easter Saturday GOM’s Gold book signing. It should be very busy up in the mountains for the long weekend. See you there!
March 7
A pop-up signing for GOM’s Gold hit the Woolworths Leura vestibule this morning. No warning sorry.
February 21
A GOM’s Gold signing will take place at the Observatory Tower Library in Sydney for the Tower residents. Should be fun!

It’s back-to-school time! I will be back signing copies of GOM’s Gold at Big W in Katoomba between 11am and 1pm on Saturday, January 31, as part of Big W’s “back-to-school” week. See you there!
